Features
Growth
Durability
Douglas fir has a class 3 durability, similar to Siberian Larch. It is resilient to fungal decay and has a life expectancy of 15-20+ years on the exterior of a building with no treatment.
Treatment
Whilst Douglas fir is naturally durable, it will silver over time. We recommend treating it with the Osmo 420 oil to keep the gorgeous grain that runs throughout this wood.
Applications
Due to its striking grain pattern, Douglas fir is suited to exterior uses such as cladding to enhance attractiveness.
