The Thuja Plicata in Canada are enormous, growing 200ft tall and growing at a rate of up to 2ft per year, they can live for hundreds of years and some have been recorded as being over 1000 years old!

We only sell premium grade No2 Clear & Better which is the highest grade of Canadian Cedar. It is a Class 2 durability, seeing out 70+ years with no decay on exteriors.

Cedar is naturally durable so there is no need to treat this product for longeivity. What we would recommend is using Osmo Oil to keep the beautiful, natural colours only Canadian Cedar can produce.

Canadian Cedar is nice and light to handle, and very easy to work with. In the UK it is mainly used for cladding and artisan fencing products. Some people do use it for decking also. Stainless steel is a must for fixings on this product!
